Uganda, a captivating country in East Africa, is a true paradise for family travel. This beautiful country is renowned for its stunning natural beauty, diverse wildlife, and warm-hearted people. With an area roughly ten times that of the Netherlands and a population of over 40 million, Uganda offers an exciting mix of culture and nature to explore. The capital, Kampala, bustles with more than 1.5 million inhabitants, while the serene surroundings of Lake Bunyonyi and the rugged landscape of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park provide a contrasting experience.
Traveling to Uganda is an adventure in itself, and you can fly there from the Netherlands in about 10 hours. Uganda enjoys a pleasant climate, with temperatures ranging from 25 to 30 degrees Celsius throughout the year. The dry season, which is ideal for family travel, runs from December to February and from June to September. This is the best time to experience the national parks and wildlife. While it’s still possible to visit Uganda during the rainy season from March to May and October to November, be aware that some roads and trails may be muddy.
