Denmark consists of the Jutland peninsula and more than 400 islands. The country is slightly larger than the Netherlands and has a population of just under six million. Together with Greenland and the Faroe Islands, Denmark forms the Kingdom of Denmark and is located in Scandinavia, in Northern Europe.

From the Netherlands, you can fly to the capital, Copenhagen, in about an hour. By car and ferry, it takes around 9 hours. Denmark has a temperate maritime climate, with summers that are not too hot and relatively mild winters. The best time to visit Denmark is during the spring and summer months, from May to September, making it an ideal destination for the May or summer holidays!
