Sweden
The land of the Sami, rugged nature and the Northern Lights
Sweden is the largest country in Scandinavia, with approximately 25,000 islands, and it is about 15 times larger than the Netherlands. Sweden has over 10 million inhabitants, the majority of whom live in one of the three largest cities in the country: the capital Stockholm on the east coast, the port city of Gothenburg on the west coast, and the industrial city of Malmö in the far south.
Sweden has a continental climate, which means that winters are cold with a lot of snowfall. Summers are usually warm and dry, but the southern part of Sweden generally receives more rain. The best time to visit Sweden depends on your preferences. From June to September, the weather is warmer and drier. If you’re looking for a winter vacation and want to see the Northern Lights, the best months to visit are from December to April.
