Dubai with kids? A great idea! In this blog, we’ll tell you why.
During our first trip with kids, we flew to Dubai. Lizzy was just over 5 months old, and I was about to return to work. It was the end of January, and the weather in Dubai was perfectβ25 degrees with sunshine. A great outlook! Once we were all packed and ready at Schiphol, I felt a bit nervous. More than six hours of flying with a little oneβdid we bring enough diapers? The flight went smoothly, and we had an amazing time in Dubai. Here are 5 reasons why youβll want to head to Dubai with your family as soon as possible.

Emirates is known as one of the most family-friendly airlines in the world, and we completely agree. You can take your stroller all the way to the gate, just like with most airlines, and board the plane first. Lizzy was immediately showered with small cuddly toys and some fun things to play with during the flight. One of the flight attendants even captured our first flight with a child with a fun polaroid photo.
We had a seat with a baby bassinet, which was perfect! Lizzy was able to sleep comfortably in it. According to Emirates’ website, the bassinet is suitable for children up to 2 years old. I think itβs great for babies up to about 1 year old.

In winter, there is a 3-hour time difference between the Netherlands and Dubai, and in summer, it’s even just 2 hours. Itβs later in Dubai, which meant that Lizzyβs bedtime there was suddenly 10:00 PM instead of 7:00 PM. We took full advantage of this. We kept Lizzy on her Dutch schedule, allowing her to sleep in until 9:00 AM and then go to bed later. This also allowed us to explore Dubai in the dark, which was beautiful with all the lights.
