The giant badger as a play structure in Play Forest Herperduin

The centerpiece of this play forest is an impressive play structure shaped like a badger. This badger is no ordinary animal; it stands a towering 6 meters high, measures 33 meters in length, and is 23 meters wide. It serves as a gigantic climbing paradise for children (recommended age from 6 years), offering countless ways to access the inner area. Young adventurers can enter the badger through four different gates, whether by climbing, scrambling, or crawling. The head of the badger houses a tower where you can climb in various ways: via a net, a ladder, or even a wall. From the top of the tower, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the surrounding area. A long tube slide brings you back down.

Please note that the play structure is not really suitable for the very youngest, but there is a smaller slide that is more accessible, especially with the help of an adult.

More than just climbing and scrambling in Play Forest Herperduin

Play Forest Herperduin offers much more than just climbing and scrambling. Children can also build huts, play in ditches, and even pump water, which is certainly fun for the little ones as well. Additionally, there are several other smaller play structures scattered throughout the forest and a barefoot path to explore. Even the youngest can enjoy the adventure trail that runs through the entire play forest, where they can run and play to their heart’s content.

For parents, there are plenty of benches to relax and enjoy nature or have a picnic while the children have fun.

Discover the lookout tower next to Play Forest Herperduin

A visit to Play Forest Herperduin is not complete without a climb up the Herperduin Lookout Tower. This tower rises high above the Herperduin sand dune area. After climbing 112 steps, you’ll find yourself atop the tower, nearly 25 meters above the ground. The view from here is truly breathtaking, offering panoramic vistas over Herperduin, and you can also see the Grote Kerk in Oss and the windmill in Ravenstein.

Practical information for a visit to Play Forest Herperduin

Play Forest Herperduin – Da’s Leuk is free to access and open during the day. You can park at the Nature Reserve Herperduin parking lot and the Play Forest Herperduin parking lot. From there, you just need to cross the road, and you’ll immediately see the information board for the play forest.

The tastiest pancakes at Pan & Zo

Wrap up your adventurous day with a delicious pancake at Pan & Zo. Here, you can not only enjoy artisanal pancakes but also have lunch, coffee, or a cozy drink. There is a play corner for the kids, and there are pleasant spaces both indoors and outdoors for groups of all sizes, including a spacious covered terrace with a fireplace.
