The King Power Mahanakhon, located in the heart of Bangkok, is one of the most iconic skyscrapers in Thailand. With its impressive height (78 floors/314 meters) and modern architecture, this building draws attention.

What makes the King Power Mahanakhon truly special is the glass platform at a height of 310 meters, which gives visitors the sensation of floating above the city. As you walk over the glass floor, you can look straight down and feel the depth beneath you.

In addition to the breathtaking views, the King Power Mahanakhon also features several interactive exhibitions that provide visitors with more insight into the history and culture of Bangkok. You can learn more about the city’s rich heritage, discover iconic landmarks, and find out about local traditions and customs.

The Mahanakhon SkyWalk Bangkok with kids - the elevator

The experience begins in the elevator, known for its speed and modern video theme. As you shoot upwards, you’re surrounded by dynamic visuals that immerse you in the atmosphere of the King Power Mahanakhon. You can feel the excitement as you’re swiftly taken to the observation deck on the 74th floor.

Once you arrive on the 74th floor, you enter the observation deck, an indoor viewing area. Here, a breathtaking panoramic view of Bangkok awaits you.

If you thought the elevator would be the highlight for the kids, you were mistaken! On the 74th floor, you’ll find the ‘Interactive Augmented Reality experience’ and ‘Dynamic interactive touch screens.’ It’s hard to explain exactly what it is: a kind of real-life Snapchat filter on large TV screens. Our kids couldn’t get enough of it and found it to be perhaps the highlight of Bangkok! πŸ˜‰

The Mahanakhon SkyWalk Bangkok with kids - 'The Glass Tray'

Do you dare to step on it? The glass floor, also known as ‘The Glass Tray.’ From the 78th floor, at a height of 310 meters, you can step onto the glass platform and enjoy a panoramic view of the stunning Bangkok skyline. But you can also look straight down through the floor! It feels very unnatural, but it’s an unforgettable experience. The kids will absolutely love it; it’s wonderful to see that they have no fear and confidently step onto the platform. Be sure to follow your kids’ lead and lie flat on your stomach for the ultimate experience! πŸ˜‰

Before you step onto the glass, you’ll receive a kind of ‘sock’ to put over your shoes. Additionally, you’re not allowed to take your phone or camera onto the platform. However, the staff are happy to take a photo of you!

The Mahanakhon SkyWalk Bangkok with Kids - Practical Information

Opening Hours

The Mahanakhon SkyWalk is open daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM (last admission at 6:30 PM). A visit to the King Power Mahanakhon and the SkyWalk is particularly enchanting in the evening hours when the city is illuminated by thousands of sparkling lights. As the sun sets and darkness falls, the Bangkok skyline transforms into a mesmerizing display of colors. It’s the perfect opportunity to take photos and soak in the magical atmosphere of the city.

However, we chose to go as early as possible to avoid the crowds and long lines. Early mornings or weekdays are often quieter, allowing you more time and space to enjoy the view. So, decide for yourself what your preference is!

Tickets

You can purchase tickets online through the official website or directly at the ticket counter. If you plan to visit during sunset or peak season, make sure to buy your tickets in advance.

In 2022, we paid 880 Thai baht per adult and 250 baht for children aged 3 to 15 years. Children under three are free. Please note that if you visit the Mahanakhon after 3:30 PM, a higher rate applies for adults (1,080 baht).
